Martial Arts Open Tournaments
Open martial arts tournaments in southern california?
I have been practicing martial arts for 10 years, but I haven’t attended a dojo for my two best styles . I practice BaGuaZhang and Southern Praying Mantis, both kung-fu, not karate. I took karate over 10 years ago for 4 years in a dojo, so i know how the tourneys work. Only problem is, I dont know of any open tournaments in SoCal where I can enroll in BaGuaZhang… help?
I’m not sure I understand your question. There are many open tournaments in SoCal.I don’t know of any for BaGuaZhang. Are you looking for an Open NHB style match? I suggest MMA tournaments if you think your Kung fu does not suck. Please remember to video it for You Tube. I would love to watch such a match. Do you have the skills for this kind of Tournament? How will you deal with the submission end of it, or are you just looking to knock em out standing up?? Please add the type of tournament you are looking for. I am trying to be serious but this is sounding a little funny…
OK, look kid… I see on another question that you said you are self taught. What do you expect a tournament to be like?? Light point sparing like the fake contact karate/TKD thing?? You will be beaten to a bloody pulp within the first 11 seconds(less if you are lucky). You obviously have no martial skill if books and the “last Air bender” are your training resume. Please tell a friend or family member of your desire in this.Perhaps they can reason with you.
